Hi,

I've noticed in testing a new site that the initial download time is very slow (say 40-50s) if I haven't accessed the site for a few hours.

After an initial page download, if I then clear the browser cache or go incognito the initial page load is about 5 seconds.

I assume a keepalive service is recommended. Is there one that anyone favours?
To be honest, I haven't looked at this for so long just one recommendation would be useful.

Hi Steve,

This is not so much a keepalive, but it is a free site monitoring. The site effect is that it should keep the site alive:

https://uptimerobot.com/

I use it quite a lot.

Hi Aderson,

 

Just to confirm I signed up for https://uptimerobot.com

It's great, pages now loading in about 4 seconds no matter how long I wait between page accesses.

Back in 2010 I have decided to focus my time and efforts on spreading the word about CMS platforms, DNN in particular .
