Hi,
I've been looking at the options for creating so called responsive skins. For anyone not aware of what a responsive skin is, it's a skin that adapts it's look to the size of device being used. i.e. A conventional layout on a desktop/tablet and a collapsed version skin for mobile devices.
Apart from buying in a hand crafted skin, I've just discovered that the next version of Artisteer (4.0) allows the creation of responsive skins. For anyone not aware of Artisteer, it's a web design tool which allows you to create website templates including skins for DNN.
The next version is at the release candidate stage at the time of writing and is available here: http://www.artisteer.com/?p=news
There is a trial version, which allows you to create skins but you'll need to buy a license to to save your projects.
In Artisteer 4.0, skins are responsive by default, but you can enable/disable that under: Options -> General -> Responsive Web Design. Also by default, the top level menu only is displayed when sized for a mobile device, but you can change that under: Menu -> Levels -> Options -> Responsive levels.
I hope someone will find this tip useful.
Regards,
Steve
