I have migrated an existing html site to a DNN site at powerdnn.

The site

http://oregongardenclubs.org/Home.aspx

is up and running but many users including me have the old site

http://oregongardenclubs.org/index.html

in the cache and I get the 'page not found' message.

I did make the Home.aspx page the "Home page".

I have created a redirect page but do not know where to place the file.  I ftp'ed it into the root folder of the new portal but that did not work

Please help

Rod

Hi Rod,

1 - The redirect HTML page should also be called index.html;

2 - You should add it to the root folder of the site, not the root folder of the portal;

Cheers,

Aderson

I did name the redirect page "index.html"

I have one install of DNN with several Domain Aliases

This is just one of the aliases.

If I put the index.html in the root, I expect my  root domain will redirect!!!!!!

So you need your redirect script to be a bit smart. If you know javascript you could potentially test where the incoming URL request is from and redirect accordingly. I have not done that before though.
