Hi,

Was watching the videos about the new friendly URL feature in 7.1.
Would you say that this removes the need for such modules as iFinity URL Master?
Or are there features of that module that would make it advisable in certain circumstances?

Thanks in advance :)

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

The iFinity URL Master still do some things that are not attainable via DNN like 301 redirects from old page URLs to new ones. Aside of that, I tend to think that DNN is good enough now to be able to handle other features.

Cheers,

Aderson

Hi,

I just want to add that iFinity has been acquired by DNN, as stated on their website : http://www.ifinity.com.au/

So the full features of this module should be implemented and available on DNN pretty soon (and I'm not sure the module will still be supported).

The only thing is they might keep some of those features for the commercial part (Evoq).

Best Regards,

Stéphane

Hi Stéphane,

Thanks for your note. Your are very right. Most of the new URL friendly features on DNN 7.1 are a consequence of the iFinity acquisition. But as you said, we should not expect the entire feature set of iFinity to be available in the DNN platform (for free) - They will save a good chunk for Evoq.

Thanks,

Aderson
