Hi Aderson,

Just looking at the videos on Amazon web services, not very sure about selection when launching an instance.

I see you took windows 2008 with sql server and IIS 64 bit.

I'm doing development on a 32 bit machine, does that make any difference?
Also I'm using SQL Server 2012 not 2008.

And it's specifying asp.net 3.5 but DNN7 uses .net framework 4.

There's only one option that includes IIS, which is the one you took I think.

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with SQL Server Express and IIS - ami-578a4a20
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Datacenter edition, 64-bit architecture, Microsoft SQLServer 2008 Express, Internet Information Services 7, ASP.NET 3.5. [English]
Also, there doesn't seem to be anyway to set a spending limit, just alerts. Though I haven't created an instance yet, that seems slightly worrying, if I don't spot the alerts and act upon them, I presume there's no limit on cost.
Best Regards,

Steve

Hi Steve,

What I have presented on the video was what was available back in 2012 - @ years later now and you will see more up to date technologies there.

In terms of 32 versus 64 bit - here and there you come across a module that will only run on 32 bit. In that case you can opne your app pool on IIS. Go to advanced settings and set "Enable 32-Bit Applications"  to true. But this is rare.

Not sure about the spending limit though.

Best regards,

Aderson

Hi Aderson,

Thank you for your reply.

I must remember to check the date next time :-)

Good to know about getting 32 bit only versions to run.

Steve
