Hi,

I don't seem to find an answer to my upgrade problem (see previous post here : DNN 7.2.2 Upgrade Problem).

So I'm thinking on starting from a fresh 7.2.2 or 7.3.0 install, as I don't have that many pages and I don't mind re-creating all the website from scratch.

But I do want to get back and recover the database user/profile information (I have more than 200 registered users).

First, it this is a good idea ?

Second, is this only about "copy/paste" with tables such as Users and UserRoles ?

Third, what are the tables regarding the profile information because I have personalised and added some new properties over there ?

Hi Stephane,

Theoretically this is a good idea, but it is just too involving. Not as simple as a copy and paste. There are about 5 to 6 tables that would be involved in the process. You would also have to worry about keeping the same userid through all these tables which could be potentially different from the ids you have now. Plus you have to keep the same machine key from the web.config. I think it is too much of a hassle.

You should give a try on this module: User Import Export v1.4

It is quite inexpensive and they provide a demo/trial version.

One thing I would be concerned about are the new properties that you have created. Not sure how this module would handle them.

Best regards,

Aderson

Thanks for the quick and precise answer, as always, and I planned on testing this module,

I just wanted to let you know that I also found a free Users Export/Import tool on the DNN forge available on codeplex.

I didn't know about that module Stephane. Thank you for sharing that with us!

I hope it all works out well. Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Aderson
