I have a problem when upgrading my website to the latest version : 7.2.2.

While everything works fine during the process, I cannot access any of my pages after upgrade the and I'm getting back 404 errors.

The only page I can access is the home page by adding /Default.aspx after my website URL.

If I replace the advanced UrlFormat by the old humanFriendly method, in the web.config file, everyhing is back to normal.

I'm looking for quite a while now, and I found the "origin" of the problem thanks to the Dnn Software forum, but nobody has given me a solution.
Now I do want to use again the advanced format to get rid of those aspx extension, as in my current website version (7.1.2).

Any hint or test I could run will be helpful...I'm getting kind of desperate.

PS : I read something about portal alias and language, but I have only activated one single language (French) and I don't use content localization.

Hi Stephane,

I have not seeing this behavior before so I will recommend that you check the 7 techniques for troubleshooting DNN video series that I put together a few weeks ago.

Hopefully that can give you more detailed information about what's going on. The goal of that series is not to give you the solution but to point to more details of what is going on.

Cheers,

Aderson

Hi Aderson,

Thank you for the quick answer, as always.

I already tried the first technique and I manage to have errors logged on the event viewer when turning on the advanced mode.

I can then easily retrieve those error by turning back to the human friendly mode.

Here is what I got...do you think any further step would be more helpful (fiddler, symbol files ??)

Hi Stephane,

I haven't seen this error before, but it seems to be popular on Google. Try "TRUNCATED TO 500 CHARS dnn" on Google. You will find some interesting conversations about that problem on ifynity's website which was acquired by DNN Corp and their friendly URL provider is now the default Human Friendly provider in the current DNN 7.

I think one of those posts may give you the answer you need.

Cheers,

Aderson
