I am trying to replicate a standalone HTML page inside the HTML module of a website which is skinned

HTML Page http://www.newdriverschools.co.uk/xmas.html

Skinned page http://www.newdriverschools.co.uk/out...

Which currently is the identical HTML code placed into the HTML module, the image (tree now car) but with padding 78%

Despite having no-repeat, it looks fine in Chrome but IE8 is tiled

Is there a "proper" way to achieve this either through  a container or by CSS

I've tried "playing" using the Firebug (excellent video) but little or no success.

Done some hunting on Google but most people seem to have the problem but not necessarily a solution :-(

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Unfortunately I don't have IE8 available right now to see the problem. I only have IE9. But here is something for you to try:

Try to change the doctype of the skin to "transitional" and see what happens. A lot of times that is a solution that works for me whenever I see different things on IE.

Here is a reference about http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_doctype.asp

Cheers,

Aderson

Some success - hooray

Containers appears to be the answer :-)

After some playing - thanks to Firebug

The solution is here

There is still work to do, but I think I have a fighting chance :-)

I'll post more here when I have fully investigated and have a complete solution
