If you have a look at the codeplex page  for the blog module http://dnnblog.codeplex.com/releases/... , it says "RC" - "release candidate" - So there might still be bugs on that version.

They also mentioned:

"NOTE: Until the "RC" is removed, please refrain from installing in production environments without careful testing and backups (if a showstopper is found, this release could be replaced)."

So the problems you have might still be bugs.

"Bug" is a problem on the code. This version of the Blog is not ready to go into production yet as they say on their page. So you may want to use the previous stable version like 4.1.1
